Crystal Lagoon™ at Brightwater
Brightwater Lagoon is a beautiful aquatic haven in Southwestern Florida, and it resides only a few minutes east of I-75 on Exit 143 (Pine Island Road). This lagoon spans six glorious acres, which means that visitors would have to walk for half a mile to circle the entire lagoon. To cover the lagoon’s 2,582 feet perimeter walls, we used a liner type material to ensure adequate waterproofing a structurally-sound final product.
There will be three beach-access entries for those who frequent this lagoon. Two of these entries will be for visitors, while the other one will be for residents of MetroPlaces. This way, everyone can enjoy the amenities at their own pace.
At Brightwater Lagoon, there’s no need to plan who can come and enjoy a relaxing day here. We’ve designed all the beach-access entries to be ADA-compliant, so they
have a slight slope that letsswimmers gradually transition from land into the lagoon. Some access locations feature textured liner, which helps guests walk into and out of the water without feeling like they’re on a balance beam.
We designed Brightwater Lagoon to be fun for guests of all ages. Adults frequent this spot to enjoy a day outside that lets them escape their hectic everyday schedules. They can watch over their kids while getting some exercise and soaking up some rays for themselves. If they’re itching for a little adventure, they can take advantage of the paddle board and kayak launch area. Once they grab a water vessel for themselves, they can safely explore the lagoon thanks to the buoy lines that strategically separate swimmer and watercraft areas.
Unique Engineering Solutions is particularly proud of Brightwater Lagoon’s design because of how it combines fun and practicality. We didn’t skimp on any features or amenities, as guests can find attractions like a floating obstacle course, a 15-foot-tall water slide, and a 707-square-foot splash pad area. However, we also prioritized feasibility by including filtration systems to ensure the water stays clean and swimmable for everyone. We also implemented measures to keep water usage to a minimum and cut unnecessary energy bills.
In our design plans, our team also thought about amenities outside the water.
We designed the sight lighting to ensure safe and practical use of the site after dark. Throughout the use of these lighten structures we were also able to incorporate maintenance requirements and power access in remote areas. This should help lead to an easy maintenance schedule and achieve a more functional lagoon.
If guests start to get hungry, they can head to the Cove Bar for a quick snack. If they don’t want to get out of the water, they can find a spot at one of the swim-up bar’s 16 seats. The Cove Bar building can seat up to 248 people, so patrons can make their way here for some replenishments.
